Robin Van Persie’s Son Shaqueel Signals Interest in Playing for Morocco National Team

The young Feyenoord striker, Shaqueel Van Persie, son of former Dutch footballer Robin Van Persie, could join the den of the Lions. He has been making eyes at the Moroccan team.
Does Shaqueel Van Persie wish to defend the Moroccan colors? Born on November 16, 2006 in London, United Kingdom, the young Feyenoord striker is the son of Robin, the former Dutch footballer, and Moroccan Bouchra Van Persie. He therefore has the possibility to represent the Netherlands or Morocco. Not selected within the Dutch selection during the last gathering, the 17-year-old player is making eyes at the Moroccan selection. He has subscribed to the official page of the national team. "Shaqueel van Persie has just followed the Moroccan national team on Instagram, the player will represent Morocco if he receives a call-up. The son of Robin van Persie is not on the Dutch U17 list," writes on X United Devils. Shaqueel is therefore showing interest in the Moroccan team.
It remains to be seen whether Morocco, which is racing after dual nationals, will solicit the Feyenoord U-17 striker. Recently, it recruited the Franco-Senegalese-Moroccan player Sofiane Diop, 23 years old. Included in the list of players called up by Walid Regragui for the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, the OGC Nice striker expressed his pride in wearing the Atlas Lions jersey. "I am very honored to be here today with the national team, it represents a lot of work and sacrifice. I am very happy to be here today. It is a pride for my whole family, I can’t wait to show it on the field. Dima Maghrib," he said after participating in the first training session of Walid Regragui’s protégés.
