Rising Star: Brice El Glaoui Bexter Named ’Arab Star of Tomorrow’ for ’Redemption Day’ Role

The film magazine Screen International has crowned Brice El Glaoui Bexter, "Arab star of tomorrow 2020". The grandson of the Moroccan painter Hassan El Glaoui received this award for his role in the film "Redemption day" by Hicham Hajji, which is scheduled for release on January 8.
At 30 years old, this young Anglo-Moroccan actor has won this distinction in Cairo, Egypt. For the laureate, this award is the fruit of a 13-year career. "I am very touched by this award even though I can’t believe I’m the star of tomorrow," he says.
After his studies in Paris and at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York, Brice El Glaoui Bexter, born to a Moroccan father and an English mother, decided to return to the kingdom. He took his first steps as a lighting double for Mark Strong and Leonardo DiCaprio on the set of Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies in 2008.
The grandson of the Moroccan painter Hassan El Glaoui receives this distinction, after Nisrin Errad in 2019. He is one of the five influential Arab filmmakers and actors of the year 2020. He owes this award to director Hicham Hajji, who recruited him as an actor in his film Redemption Day as Younes Laalej, a high-ranking agent of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ).
