Richard Branson’s Virgin Group to Open Luxury Riads in Marrakech Atlas Mountains

British billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Group is preparing to open six new luxury riads at the Kasbah Tamadot located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains in Marrakech.
Starting in September 2024, six new luxury riads from the Virgin group will be available for rent. Equipped with two bedrooms, each riad can accommodate up to six people in a spacious Deluxe Pool Suite and a Deluxe Room, connected by a separate living space, thus offering perfect accommodation for families or small groups. It will also be furnished with traditional Moroccan furniture reflecting the tranquility of the place, as well as works of art from the vast collection of the former owner of the Kasbah Tamadot, the famous antique dealer and interior designer Luciano Tempo, the group specifies on its website.
As part of this project, artisans will benefit from the support of the non-profit Eve Branson Foundation (EBF), led by Richard Branson’s late mother. They will thus manufacture furnishings for the riads, such as bath mats. These new riads will be added to a total of 28 rooms and suites located in the Kasbah Tamadot, 10 luxurious Berber tents and a master suite.
"We are delighted to announce the addition of six new riads to our magical retreat in the Atlas Mountains. The land we are developing has always been part of our domain and we are extremely excited to be able to make the most of it and allow our 100% Moroccan team to proudly share our incredible Berber hospitality and culture with new guests," said David Redouane, general manager of the Kasbah Tamadot.
And to add: "We are seeing more and more extended families and small groups traveling together and this expansion of the Kasbah Tamadot offering will provide private and independent space, which is ideal for these types of clients. In the purest riad style, the rooms will be arranged around their own private pool and relaxing garden, with incredible views of Mount Toubkal from the rooftop terrace - an ideal complement to our very special hotel."
