Repatriated Moroccan Teen Vows to Return to Spain After Mass Migration Attempt

The young Morad, 16 years old, was part of the group of 15 minors from the Santa Amelia sports center repatriated on Sunday to Morocco. But he remains determined to return to Spain as soon as possible to build a better future for himself.

Morad arrived in Ceuta in the wave of migrants who entered en masse on May 17 and 18. On Sunday, he was repatriated to Morocco and has already joined his family living in Fnideq. He had left Morocco to build a better future in Spain, he tells El Faro de Ceuta. From Morocco, he recounts to the newspaper how his return went. "I didn’t want to go out... Without any explanation, they asked me to get into a van and it was only afterwards that I realized they were taking us to the border," he explains.

Morad regrets having been repatriated to Morocco where according to him there is no future and opportunities for young people. "There is absolutely nothing here, there is no work, there is nothing," he complains. That’s why the young man is still determined to return to Spain as soon as possible to build a better future, even though he acknowledges that during the three months he spent in the Santa Amelia minors’ center in Ceuta, he was not able to do much.
