Rennes Targets Chelsea’s Ziyech in Potential Ligue 1 Move

In search of playing time, Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech could well bounce back in Ligue 1. After a difficult start to the season with Galatasaray, the winger is announced on Stade Rennais’ radar. Negotiations would even be at an advanced stage.
The Breton club, eager to strengthen its attack and energize a somewhat disappointing first part of the season, would see in Ziyech a valuable asset. The former Ajax Amsterdam player, lacking rhythm, could thus find his colors in Brittany.
Jorge Sampaoli, the Rennes coach, would have played a decisive role in this possible transaction, believes Le360. He would have insisted with his management to attract the Moroccan midfielder. Preliminary discussions, including financial aspects, would already have taken place between the various parties. It must be said that Ziyech’s salary, around 3 million euros per year at Galatasaray, is a central element of the negotiations.
The interest for Ziyech would be mutual. The player, concerned to regain his best form and consolidate his place in the national team, would not be insensitive to a transfer. The prospect of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco, would further motivate this approach. It seems that the player wants to put all the chances on his side to shine on national soil.
This season, Hakim Ziyech’s playing time is almost nil under the Istanbul club’s jersey, spread over eleven matches in all competitions (five in the Süper Lig, three in the Europa League, two in the Champions League qualifiers and one in the TFF Süper Kupa).
