Renault to Unveil New Dacia Models, Morocco Production Slated for 2025

It is confirmed, the new range of Dacia will indeed be produced in Morocco. However, it will have to wait one to two years, the time to strictly and rigorously respect the process which goes through a multi-industrial validation.
The Renault group plans to present the new range of Dacia vehicles on September 29. It also plans to produce part of it in Morocco. Except that the start of production should not take place until one or two years.
It is only at the end of this process that the factories will be able to start the manufacture of the models intended for commercialization. In any case, it is specified at Renault that "the industrial tool has been adapted to accommodate the production of the new models". But we do not want to risk forecasts at this stage, reports l’Economiste.
"We do not communicate on production and consequently sales forecasts," says the manufacturer. However, the Tangier and Casablanca units have an installed industrial capacity of 440,000 vehicles per year.
"It is undeniable that the level is lower than before the crisis but the group has adapted and continues to adapt the activity according to the fluctuating demand both locally and in our export markets," we are told within Renault where it is confirmed that the recovery of the automotive sector in Morocco is linked to that of the export countries because, more than 90% of the French manufacturer’s production is shipped abroad, i.e. 74 countries. But today, this demand has decreased sharply with the crisis that has impacted households, specifies the newspaper.
"We remain attentive to all the recovery signals and closely monitor the evolution of the restriction measures even if the duration and magnitude of this Covid-19 crisis do not allow us to give a precise forecast of the impacts," concludes the management while awaiting better days.
