Renault Expands Electric Vehicle Production in Morocco, Plans 8 New E-Tech Models by 2027

Renault aims to launch eight new hybrid and electric (E-Tech) models by 2027 and to double the net profit per unit sold outside Europe, particularly in Morocco.
Renault sold 634,124 units in 2022, representing 43% of international sales. The French automotive giant intends to balance its international product mix with five new products in the C and D segments and strengthen its position in the B segment with the Kardian, which will be available in Morocco and Latin America as early as next year. Reducing CO₂ emissions remains a priority for the French manufacturer, which has planned hybrid and electric E-Tech models in its future non-European range. The company aims to sell one car in three in electric or hybrid version outside Europe by 2027, reports Auto Revista.
"While our product renewal is bearing fruit in Europe, we will now make the brand more global and more profitable. That’s why Renault is going on the offensive outside Europe with the launch of eight new vehicles by 2027, based on a reduced number of platforms, shared between regions and thus strengthening our synergies," explains Fabrice Cambolive, Managing Director of Renault. These versatile and latest generation platforms will be implemented in Morocco, Latin America, Turkey and India, allowing Renault to offer its customers a variety of vehicle models such as the Kardian SUV, or the Niagara Concept, a hybrid E-Tech 4x4 pickup.
For Bruno Vanel, Product Performance Director at Renault, this new platform will "differentiate us from the competition and launch us into a global offensive with a wide variety of vehicles [...] adapted to the needs of each one, while allowing customers to consume less energy and have an exceptional driving comfort".
