Red Bull heir Mark Mateschitz races Morocco Rally under an alias
Mark Mateschitz is competing in the Morocco Rally under the pseudonym “Mark Mustermann.” The Red Bull heir wants to attract less attention. His partner, Victoria Swarovski, is also taking part in the event under another name.
The two drivers are racing for the MM Rallye team, Austrian media outlet MeinBezirk reported in an article published on October 1. She is listed under the name “Vic Flip.”
For Mateschitz, 34, the first few kilometers were difficult. Behind the wheel of a Ford Raptor, he did not finish the first stage, falling far behind.
The second stage, on Wednesday, went better: he finished 36th, 46 minutes behind the leader, and about eleven minutes ahead of his partner.
In the overall standings cited by the newspaper on Thursday, however, Swarovski was still ten places ahead of him. Mateschitz was in 47th place out of 50 competitors, just behind Sébastien Loeb.
