Record Numbers: Over 60,000 Moroccan Expatriates Transit Through Malaga Port for Annual Homecoming

The flow of Moroccans from Europe has increased by 30% this year in Malaga compared to 2019, the last year the Marhaba Operation was held.
In total, 60,815 Moroccan expatriates and 13,827 vehicles embarked from the port of Malaga to Morocco as part of the Marhaba Operation. Compared to 2019, the flow of Moroccan expatriates and vehicles increased by 30% and 39.9% respectively between June 15 and July 31, according to data from the government delegation provided on Thursday.
The Marhaba Operation started on June 15 and will end on September 15. It includes two phases: the outward phase which ends on August 15, and the return phase which takes place from July 15 to September 15. Significant flows of Moroccan expatriates were noted on July 8 and 9 and July 29, 30, 31 and August 1. Flows of lesser intensity were recorded on June 25 and 26, July 1, 2 and 3, from July 10 to 28 and from August 2 to 14.
