Record Number of Moroccan Jews Emigrate to Israel, Official Data Shows

432 Moroccans are said to have made their aliyah in the last eight years, according to official estimates from the Israeli government.
The emigration of Moroccan Jews to Israel has reached a record level since 2011. According to figures from the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI), about 432 people have left Morocco in recent years. A figure largely higher than other countries like Tunisia, Yemen and Algeria.
The JPPI is a semi-governmental body whose goal is to encourage and support Jews around the world who wish to emigrate to Israel.
The Jews of Morocco, the largest Jewish community in the Arab world, are now the most numerous to decide to settle in Israel.
It should be noted that Morocco is a state where all citizens enjoy equal rights, regardless of religion. King Mohammed VI declared in March that as "Commander of the Faithful", he ensured "the free exercise of religions" and protected "Moroccan Jews".
