Operation Marhaba recorded this year an increase of 10.8% compared to last year in terms of passenger flow. According to official data, some 1,585,693 Moroccans from Europe joined Morocco via the Spanish ports between June 15 and August 15.
Regarding vehicles, 390,736 of them transited through Spain during the period, an increase of 11.7% compared to 2022. The port of Algeciras absorbed 60% of this traffic, reports Europa Press, specifying that for the return phase, 519,653 Moroccans living abroad have already left Morocco to return to their countries of residence, which represents an increase of 2% compared to the same period in 2022.
The Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) has asked travelers to enter the ports of Algeciras and Tarifa with a closed ticket, purchased in advance online or at approved sales outlets in order to avoid traffic jams, long queues and significant delays.
