Reality TV Contestants Nearly Lose $1 Million Prize in Moroccan Taxi Mishap

A two-person team participating in season 3 of the reality TV show The Amazing Race almost had their passports seized in Morocco. An incident that ruined their efforts to finish first and win the grand prize of one million dollars.

As they were set to win the grand prize of one million dollars, Andre Plummer, a police officer, and Damon Wafer, a firefighter, nicknamed "Team 911", encountered a major difficulty that undermined their efforts. From the United States to Mexico, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Spain, the two friends arrived in Morocco, after finishing second out of eight teams. They get into a taxi in the kingdom, but the driver takes them far off their route. Team 911’s journey had become suspicious.

Subsequently, they were apprehended by Moroccan police who tried to confiscate their passports. The runners opposed it. They were facing a serious problem. At that point, the show’s security team had to intervene to resolve the situation, reports Screen Rant. Andre and Damon were allowed to continue the competition, but it was impossible for them to make up the delay caused by this incident.

They tried to make it to Munich to make up for the lost time but were eliminated, finishing in sixth place.
