Real Madrid Eyes Hakimi Return, but PSG Transfer Unlikely

Sources close to Paris Saint-Germain claim that the transfer of Achraf Hakimi to Real Madrid in the next summer transfer window is unlikely, despite persistent rumors. Here are a few reasons why.
The Moroccan defender, who left Real Madrid in 2020 to join Inter Milan, was then transferred to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021. His talent and performances have attracted the attention of his former club, which is seeking to strengthen its squad for next season.
However, several obstacles seem to stand in the way of a return of Hakimi to the Santiago Bernabéu. First, the Moroccan player is tied to Paris Saint-Germain by a long-term contract, which runs until 2026. The Parisian club has no intention of selling him, especially after losing Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid.
Secondly, the transfer price of Hakimi would be exorbitant. Paris Saint-Germain spent 60 million euros to acquire him in 2021, and would undoubtedly demand a similar or even higher sum to let him go. Real Madrid, which has just spent large sums on Mbappé and is considering other recruitments, does not seem willing to engage in such a financial operation.
Thirdly, Hakimi seems happy and fulfilled at Paris Saint-Germain. He has forged strong ties with his teammates and the coaching staff, and has played a crucial role in the club’s success last season. It is difficult to believe that he would leave such a favorable environment to return to a club where he is not certain to be an undisputed starter.
If a return of Hakimi to Real Madrid were to materialize, it would probably have to wait until the summer of 2025, when his contract expires. Until then, Real Madrid could turn to other options for the right-back position, such as Dani Carvajal, who has already proven his worth to the club, or a promising young talent.
In the meantime, Hakimi continues to shine at Paris Saint-Germain, where he is considered one of the best defenders in the world. The last match against FC Barcelona showed that his absence has disorganized the Parisian team.
