Rapper French Montana Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Song Plagiarism

American rapper of Moroccan origin French Montana is once again threatened with legal action. This time, he is accused of plagiarizing the lyrics of the 2021 song "Handstand".
The complaints come from rapper of the "Hot Boys", Turk, who sent a formal notice through his lawyer to French Montana in which he claimed that the latter "copied the lyrics of his group’s song without authorization," reports TMZ.
According to Turk, the lyrics stolen in "Handstand", already viewed more than 17 million times on YouTube, are from their 1999 hit "I Need A Hot Girl". Montana should settle the matter, otherwise "he will deal with him in court".
However, a source cited by the media claimed that French Montana had actually purchased certain rights to this song. However, there seems to have been some confusion that the Moroccan rapper’s team is already working to rectify.
Turk’s lawyer, Paul M. Aloise Jr. of the Brooks LeBœuf law firm, had also stated that he was ready to settle this matter amicably without going to court.
