Ramadan Food Safety Crackdown: 1,594 kg of Unsafe Products Destroyed in Ouarzazate

Food products unfit for consumption, seized during the period from April 5 to 30, have been destroyed in Ouarzazate. According to the provincial committee for quality control of products, it is about 1,594 kg of various products seized in sales outlets.
In a statement, the Division of Economic and Social Affairs of the province indicated that the provincial committee and the local sub-committees carried out these seizures during inspection visits carried out at 102 sales outlets since the beginning of the month of Ramadan. These inspection visits led to the seizure and destruction of 891 kg of meat and fish, as well as 703 kg of various food products.
The purpose of the provincial committee is to ensure the protection of consumer health, through the control of the quality of food products on sale. It intends to continue its mission of monitoring and controlling the quality of food products, in coordination with all stakeholders and under the laws in force.
