As in most European countries, Muslims in Belgium will begin Ramadan this Friday, April 24, 2020.
This was announced this evening by the Executive of Muslims of Belgium (EMB) in a message published on its Facebook page. This date was determined following the meeting of the Council of Theologians held on Thursday evening.
Following the videoconference meeting of the Council of Theologians today, the Executive of Muslims of Belgium (EMB), the Representative Body of the Islamic Faith, is pleased to announce to the Muslims of Belgium that the fasting of the month of Ramadan will begin this year on Friday, April 24, 2020.
The EMB extends its best wishes to the entire Muslim community of Belgium and hopes that this blessed month will be marked by wisdom, patience and solidarity, particularly in the context of the pandemic we are experiencing.
The EMB invites Muslims to take advantage of this month to multiply prayers for the sick, the deceased and all the families mourning the loss of one or more loved ones.
Finally, the EMB once again wishes to salute all those who are dedicated on a daily basis to protecting, relieving and caring for the population.
It should be noted that several European countries are starting the fast of the sacred month this Friday, including France and Spain.
Ramadan Mubarak to all.
