Radisson Group Expands African Presence Despite Pandemic Challenges

"Since our entry into Africa in 2000, we have remained determined to stimulate the growth of this emerging market, which has generally performed well during the Covid19 pandemic. On the continent, financing problems persist but our links with Jin Jiang (owner of the Radisson Blu brand) have been crucial for us to remain positive in terms of cash flow while also opening new hotels in the region, for example in Johannesburg, Ghana and Kenya," said Federico J Gonzàlez, CEO of Radisson Hotel Group. This shows that Africa has become an important hub in which the Radisson Group intends to invest. And among the countries that will benefit from this investment, Morocco is noted with already two hotels of the group in Casablanca and Marrakech and soon the construction of other hotels.
With more than 40 hotels built in Africa, Europe and the Middle East in 2020 despite Covid-19, Federico Gonzàlez believes that 2020 was a positive year for the group. And it’s not over yet, as there are other hotel construction signatures in several countries on the continent.
