Radicalized Moroccan Arrested in Spain for Plotting Terrorist Attack in Catalonia

The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested in Empuriabrava (Girona) a young Moroccan awaiting deportation, accused of jihadist indoctrination and attempted terrorist attack in Catalonia.
The Moroccan was in an advanced process of radicalization and had expressed his intention to carry out a terrorist attack in Catalonia before going to conflict countries, the Spanish police reported on Monday, specifying that the accused did not at any time constitute a threat to citizens. Arrested on September 2 in Girona, he is accused of a crime of jihadist indoctrination, according to EFE.
The Mossos opened an investigation at the end of May, after discovering a grenade in a house in Empuriabrava (Girona), in order to identify the people who had lived there. It was in this context that the agents identified the man who was carrying out actions in favor of terrorist organizations, disseminating the jihadist ideology and inciting citizens to commit terrorist acts.
