Racist Graffiti and Swastikas Deface Luxury Home in Former Water Tower, Owner Files Complaint

An individual wrote and drew racist inscriptions, threats and swastikas on the perimeter wall of the former water tower converted into a luxury residence on the heights of Trévoux. The owner filed a complaint with the gendarmerie.
Adel Khatra was absent at the time of the events, reports La Voix de l’Ain. According to his wife, co-manager of the premises, these events took place at night "at 3 o’clock in the morning", Tuesday, July 21. "The surveillance cameras of the building filmed the scene. We see a single person, on foot, wearing a cap, a mask and gloves. We see him leave on foot once his misdeed is done," she said. According to her, the customers present in the water tower saw and heard nothing.
Her husband filed a complaint with the gendarmerie to whom he entrusted the video images of the scene. He also had to cancel the reservations after this racist act. "What we are going through here is hard. We fear a tragedy with these written threats," said Mrs. Khatra. Faced with this situation, the co-managers call on SOS Racisme and the Licra to lend them a hand.
The reasons that would explain this racist act are as yet unknown. In a short time, the residence has forged a reputation and attracts personalities like Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, Olympique Lyonnais footballer Houssem Aouar, singer Gims, etc.
For now, the gendarmerie is conducting its investigation.
