Racist Abuse Mars Spanish Youth Soccer Match, Club Demands Action

A racist incident targeting Moroccans occurred again on Sunday during a football match between Club Don Bosco de Valladolid’s B team and its counterpart CD Adev Zafiro. Don Bosco condemns these acts and asks the Royal Football Federation of Castilla y León to impose an exemplary sanction on those responsible.

Another case of racism in Spanish football. It happened during a cadet match between Don Bosco de Valladolid and Adev Zafiro, on the José Luis Saso field. In a statement published Sunday and to which La Razon had access, Don Bosco denounces these acts which it describes as "very serious, violent and racist". According to the Valladolid club, these acts are "totally" removed from football, and even from life in society.

What really happened? Supporters of CD Adev Zafiro B launched firecrackers and flares from the beginning until the end of the match. "At the final whistle, insulting chants were also launched against the players of the visiting team CD Don Bosco B, such as "F****** Moroccans", among others. When entering the locker rooms, local supporters launched a series of firecrackers at the door of the visiting club," it is detailed.

CD Don Bosco strongly condemns these incidents, praising the quick reaction of the technical staff and other club members who managed to calm the spirits of the young players victims of these racist insults. The Valladolid club also thanked its players who showed great maturity in the face of this situation.

Don Bosco also denounces the silence and inaction of the CD Adev Zafiro authorities, emphasizing that these incidents "give us an understanding of the functioning of this club and the model it follows". For these reasons, the club asks the Royal Football Federation of Castilla y León to take exemplary action against Adev to ensure that such "unfortunate events" do not happen again. The Valladolid club reserves the right to take legal action.
