Racism Allegations Halt French Soccer Match: Ajaccio Player Claims Slur from Rodez Captain

French player of Moroccan origin Mounaïm El Idrissy claims to have been the victim of racist insults from a Ruthénois player during the match between his club, AC Ajaccio and Rodez AF on Saturday evening (2-1).
More racism in the world of football. At the request of Ajaccio player Mounaïm El Idrissy who complained of racist insults from a Rodez player, the referee stopped the match after the 26th minute of play. The Corsican striker claims to have been called a "dirty Arab" by Ruthénois captain Julien Célestine, reports Euro Sport. After a few minutes of interruption, the match resumed. No sanction was imposed due to lack of evidence.
At the end of the match, Mounaïm El Idrissy posted a message on Twitter to confirm the accusations of racism. "Today, 02/26/2022, I received racist remarks from a Rodez player in Ligue 2. I sincerely hope that sanctions will be applied. This must no longer exist," wrote the 23-year-old French player of Moroccan origin.
