Rachida Dati Mourns Loss of Aunt in Heartfelt Instagram Tribute
Rachida Dati announced on her Instagram account on Monday the tragic passing of a member of her family.
"My Aunt, the sister of Dad who loved him so much, joined him tonight. Peace to their souls as well as to Mom. A life of struggles, trials in the silence of dignity. May God grant him His infinite Mercy and gather them together," Rachida Dati wrote on her Instagram account, in the caption of two black and white photos. In one of the photos, taken in Casablanca, Morocco, she is seen next to a woman, probably the deceased aunt.
Of Moroccan father (M’Barek Dati) and Algerian mother (Fatima-Zohra), Rachida Dati remains very attached to her roots. The LR mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris, who grew up in Chalon-sur-Saône with her six sisters and four brothers, holds on to the values transmitted by her parents who no longer live. "Daughter of M’Barek and Fatim-Zohra. Minister of Justice," is also the title of her autobiographical book published in 2011.
Her father, M’Barek, died in Paris in 2017, from chronic illnesses. Her mother, on the other hand, died about fifteen years earlier, in 2001. Rachida Dati wanted to pay tribute to her by giving her daughter the name Zohra.
