Race against the clock for Achraf Hakimi
Achraf Hakimi has removed his orthopedic boot and is accelerating his rehabilitation to play in the Africa Cup of Nations at home. While the Moroccan full-back says he is certain to be ready on December 21, Paris Saint-Germain is more cautious about his actual fitness level.
Injured his ankle against Bayern Munich in early November, the 27-year-old defender is following a drastic program to heal in time, reports L’Equipe. Supervised by the doctor of the Moroccan national team, Christophe Baudot, he spent several weeks in Murcia, Spain. At the Innova center, he has been doing double daily sessions with his physiotherapist and his compatriot Nayef Aguerd, using a scooter to get around and spare his support.
Back in Paris since November 25, the African Ballon d’Or winner continues his rehabilitation in Poissy. He maintains his conviction that he can take his place from the opening match against the Comoros. The Parisian club tempers this optimism, estimating that it will be difficult for the player to regain 100% of his physical abilities for the start of the tournament.
The Parisian infirmary is also monitoring the progress of Désiré Doué. Affected by a hamstring injury in late October, the 2025 Golden Boy is recovering quickly after a stay in Switzerland. Having resumed high-intensity running, the French international could return to the group for the Intercontinental Cup in Doha in mid-December, although the club refuses any haste for this young talent already slowed down by muscle problems this season.
