Rabat Zoo Implements Enhanced Safety Measures to Protect Animals During Coronavirus Closure

Even though the state of health emergency has led to the closure of several establishments open to the public like the Rabat Zoological Garden, the well-being of the animals has been taken into account through a health monitoring carried out by the veterinary and zootechnical staff of the establishment.
It is a special system set up by the zoo staff, in order to guarantee the health and well-being of the animals. Contacted by lopinion.ma, the zoological garden ensures that the hygiene measures adopted since its opening (wearing gloves and masks for the daily management of animals), have been reinforced by new rules in order to avoid "any risk of virus transmission between humans or from human to animal".
Also, the staff who provide care to the animals must respect the precautions of distancing and use disposable masks and suits daily to avoid any risk of contamination.
