Rabat’s High-End Prostitution Ring Leader Sentenced to 5 Years in Human Trafficking Case

The criminal jurisdiction of the appeal chamber at the Rabat Court of Appeal has sentenced the most famous intermediary in the field of high-end prostitution and human trafficking in Rabat and its surroundings to five years of firm imprisonment. Her close assistant received two years of firm imprisonment, while her personal driver and a third accused were sentenced to one and a half years of firm imprisonment. In February 2023, the main accused had received six years in prison at first instance. Nine years of firm imprisonment were distributed between her driver and two other accused. They were all prosecuted for crimes of intermediation, exploitation of minors and participation in human trafficking...

This case broke out in June 2022 following investigations carried out by the anti-gang unit of the regional directorate of the judicial police of the Rabat police prefecture on the file of high-end prostitution in the capital. These investigations resulted in the arrest of the most famous intermediary in high-end prostitution - a woman in her fifties - near the villa of a Gulf national in possession of a large sum of money amounting to 800,000 dirhams. She will be released a few days after her placement in pre-trial detention, before being arrested again on June 5, 2022.

The anti-gang unit of the Rabat police prefecture had referred the accused, released, to the Attorney General of the King near the Rabat Court of Appeal. He decides on her detention as part of the investigation for accusations related to human trafficking through exploitation of vulnerability and precariousness, practice of prostitution, recruitment of people for prostitution and collection of sums of money from intermediation, seduction of people for the practice of prostitution, including minors, and establishment of places of prostitution, and receipt of money or benefits to obtain consent for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

The fifty-year-old woman is a woman known to the justice system. In 2021, she had served a four-month prison sentence for intermediation in prostitution and seduction of a minor resulting in defloration. Born in 1969, she grew up in a simple house in the Taqaddoum district. She married a teacher, before emigrating with him to an Arab country and working in the office of an important personality. Back in Morocco, she embarked on pimping and high-end prostitution, recruited relatives to manage her criminal network through the distribution of roles and the pursuit of minors and pretty girls from precarious backgrounds in Rabat, Salé and Témara. This "lucrative business" earned her millions and allowed her to live in ostentatious wealth, as well as to establish great relationships and monopolize the high-end prostitution market in Rabat and Harhoura, we are told.
