Rabat Authorities Close Cafes and Shops Violating COVID-19 Safety Measures

The local authorities of Rabat do not want to take any risks. They have decided to close cafes and shops that violate the preventive and health measures put in place to counter the Covid-19 epidemic.
At the head of a team composed of auxiliary forces and national security elements, the Caïd of the urban area is proceeding to close cafes and commercial stores that do not observe the various preventive measures adopted, reports Hespress. These include social distancing, wearing masks and the availability of disinfection solutions. In the Mellah and Casablanca neighborhoods, several cafes have been singled out and customers have been forced to leave.
In addition to the cafes, people who violate these safety and prevention rules, particularly the wearing of masks, are forced to pay a fine of 300 DH or are taken to a police station.
To counter this second wave of active cases, the authorities have shown rigor by stepping up controls at the level of Takadom, Rashad and the Al-Qamra bus station, where security agents monitor the movements of citizens and their commitment to health protection measures. This is also the case at the level of shops, cafes and restaurants in the neighborhoods of Al-Rahma, Cheikh Lmfadel, Tabrikt and Al-Inbiaât.
In addition, security checkpoints have been set up in places in the popular neighborhood of Sidi Moussa, where checks are carried out to apprehend all offenders of the health emergency.
