Puff Daddy’s 2002 Morocco Visit Resurfaces Amid Current Controversy

The recent release of a photo of American rapper Puff Daddy, in the company of Jamel Debbouze in Marrakech, is causing a lively controversy on social networks. Some Internet users wondered if the American star, currently involved in a case of sexual exploitation in his country, had also made victims in Morocco.
The photo dates from November 2002, the year the American rapper had celebrated his 33rd birthday in Marrakech, at the invitation of Jamel Debbouze. "I have never felt so much happiness as today. This is the best birthday I’ve ever had in my life," the American star had said at the time to the newspaper Le Matin.
The American singer and producer had taken advantage of his stay in the Palmeraie, savoring delicious Moroccan dishes. On the evening of the birthday, a big party had been organized, during which Puff Daddy and Jamel Debbouze had animated a press conference.
On this occasion, the American rapper had denounced the prejudices towards Arabs and Muslims in the United States. "If a person commits a crime, should we blame his entire community?" Puff Daddy had added that he had accepted Jamel Debbouze’s invitation with pleasure, stating that his "friends were also delighted to come to Morocco".
