Several equipment such as faucets, mirrors, and other accessories have been stolen from these toilets, reports Hespress. The competent prosecutor’s office has ordered the opening of a judicial investigation to identify the perpetrators of this criminal act.
This act of vandalism has aroused the indignation of citizens and the authorities of the city. Many Internet users have expressed on social networks their discontent with this situation which, according to them, does not honor the inhabitants of the Moulay Rachid district.
Acts of vandalism and theft targeting public property are detrimental to the people of Casablanca and constitute an attack on the public domain, fumes with anger Moulay Ahmed Afilal, vice-president of the Casablanca city council, announcing the implementation of repressive measures to put an end to these behaviors and preserve these infrastructures.
The municipality of Casablanca had approved the construction of 60 public toilets in order to remedy the glaring lack of this infrastructure. Some have already been installed in the city center and in strategic areas.
