Psychiatric Evaluation Deems Amiens Student's Killer Unfit for Trial

The psychiatric re-evaluation concluded in the "irresponsibility" of Mike Razafimahatratra, a young Reunionese student of Malagasy origin accused of having coldly murdered his girlfriend, Salma Laaziri, a student of Moroccan origin in an apartment in the Picardy city, on April 9, 2020. The initial elements of the investigation conducted by the Lille judicial police revealed that the young woman had been stabbed several times by her aggressor.

Placed in custody, the main suspect, a 25-year-old Reunionese student, confessed to the murder. After committing his crime, he would have remained several days with the body of his companion in the small apartment. Salma Laaziri and Mike Razafimahatratra were a couple and were following a course at the École Supérieure d’Ingénieurs en Électrotechnique et Électronique (ESIEE).
