PSG Star Achraf Hakimi Addresses Rape Allegations for First Time

In an interview, Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi returns, for the first time, to the rape allegations for which he had been indicted in March 2023.
"I’m going to be honest about this topic. This is the first time I’ve spoken publicly about it with someone. Since it happened, I haven’t said anything about it," Achraf Hakimi said in an interview broadcast on the YouTube channel of A Anas Bukhash. In March 2023, he had been indicted for rape by the Nanterre court after being taken into custody. A 24-year-old French woman, residing in Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne), had presented herself at the end of February at the police station in Nogent-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne), where she claimed to have been raped by Hakimi at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt. Allegations rejected by the Moroccan right-back. He has also denounced an attempted extortion against him and initiated proceedings against the plaintiff.
According to Achraf, fame attracts trouble for him. "The truth is that when you’re successful and things are going well, you become an easy target for some people," he regretted. "And it taught me that you can’t trust a lot of people around you. When we put this case in the hands of justice, we saw that it was just a way to blackmail me." The Moroccan international relies on justice. "They wanted to blackmail me and that’s why we filed a complaint and it’s going well. Justice has handled things rather well. So we’re in a process that’s going well and justice has handled things rather well," he is convinced.
