PSG vs Reims Women’s Match Suspended After Fireworks Disrupt Play

The interruption of the match between PSG and Stade de Reims, counting for the 4th day of the D1 Feminine, after the explosion of fireworks near the Poissy pitch was not to the liking of the French side of Moroccan origin, Sakina Karchaoui. She did not hesitate to criticize her coach, Amandine Miquel.
Initially scheduled to be held at the usual George-Lefèvre stadium of the Camp des Loges in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, parasitized by a fungus, the first division women’s match between PSG and Stade de Reims was finally played at the Léo-Lagrange stadium in Poissy (Yvelines). But explosions of firecrackers and fireworks on the pitch led to the interruption of the match at the start of the second half (0-0). Players and the refereeing team were forced to return to the locker rooms. But the match will be definitively interrupted.
Responding to the Canal+ microphone at the entrance to the Poissy locker rooms, Amandine Miquel, the PSG coach, said: "Without lying to you, there is a willingness to resume on the Reims side and a willingness to stop on the PSG side, so we will do our best to resume the match." These remarks provoked reactions from Sakina Karchaoui, captain of PSG in this match against the Champenois. "Shameful what happened today, it is unacceptable," she released on her Instagram account.
And to continue: "Families, children could have been hit by acts from outside the stadium. I wanted to correct certain remarks, we too wanted to continue the match, but the refereeing body and the delegate decided otherwise for the safety of all."
