PSG-Maccabi Champions League Match Raises Security Concerns Amid Middle East Tensions

The French authorities fear clashes during the Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Maccabi Haifa, scheduled for this evening at 7:00 PM GMT at the Parc des Princes, due to the position of PSG leaders and players like Achraf Hakimi in favor of the Palestinian cause.
The French authorities believe that the support of the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP), the main group of PSG, for the Palestinian cause could create friction before the match, reports Le Parisien. The Moroccan defender of the Parisian club, Achraf Hakimi, who had taken a stand in favor of Palestine against Israel, had been booed by the local public during his trips to the Hebrew state.
The risk of clashes and disturbance to public order for this match is level 3 on a scale of 5, which is why around a thousand police officers will be deployed around the stadium during the match for which 1,700 Israeli supporters from Haifa are expected.
