PSG’s Luis Enrique Open to Releasing Achraf Hakimi for Morocco’s Olympic Team

The Spanish coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique, is willing to release the Atlas Lion Achraf Hakimi so that he can participate in the Olympics to be held in France from July 26 to August 11 with the Moroccan Olympic team.
Luis Enrique’s assurances to Morocco!? According to the statements of the PSG coach at a press conference on Saturday on the eve of the match against OM, the Moroccan full-back could participate in the Olympic football tournament (July 24 - August 9) with the Moroccan Olympic selection. "I am not the owner of the players, the players have a contract with the club. It is obvious that having won the Olympics once in my country, in Barcelona (in 1992, ed.), it would be weird on my part" to prevent a player from participating, he explained. He will add: "What is certain is that each case must be studied individually, it is difficult to chain the Euro (June 14 - July 14) and the Olympic Games".
Hakimi would not participate in Euro 2024, which increases his chances of joining Tarik Sektioui’s protégés in Paris. The latter and Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, will also try to find the best combination for the Olympics. They will hold a technical meeting during which they will analyze the results of the March camp and the balance sheet of the Olympic team’s friendly matches against Ukraine and Wales, and focus on planning the roadmap for the next camp, which will coincide with the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup, and the preparation for the Paris Olympics. It will be agreed to keep all eligible Atlas Lions players with Sektioui during this preparatory period, in order to increase cohesion and get to know them better.
