PSG’s Hakimi Struggles as Dortmund Takes Champions League Semi-Final Lead

Dortmund took the lead against PSG (1-0) in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals. Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan right-back of Paris Saint-Germain, delivered a mixed performance, according to the sports press.
According to Footmercato, Hakimi had a "high-speed duel" against Adeyemi and Maatsen. "This resulted in interventions on the edge for each of the participants," notes the sports media. The duel against Adeyemi was "dantesque throughout the match".
Dicodusport is more severe, giving Hakimi a score of 4.5/10. The site criticizes the player for his "defensive difficulties" and his "three fouls conceded in one half". However, it notes that he "hit the post" and "won four fouls".
Maxifoot gives Hakimi a score of 5/10. The media believes that the Moroccan "should have taken advantage of Dembélé’s more central position to animate the right flank". He judges that he was "not incisive enough in the first half" but that he "raised his level after the break".
Sofoot also gives Hakimi a score of 5/10. He ironizes on the fact that Karim Adeyemi followed him so much "that his jersey started to turn yellow and flocked with the number 27".
Finally, Parisfans is even more critical, giving Hakimi a score of 4.5/10. The player was "correct, but he made too many mistakes in the first act". He believes that offensively, he "has everything to do damage and do better than what he presented tonight".
The sports press is unanimous: the Moroccan delivered a mixed performance. He was solid defensively but lacked incisiveness offensively. He will therefore have to show a different level in the return match at the Parc des Princes on May 7.
