PSG’s Hakimi Shines in Dominant Win Over Lille

Before returning to the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed its dominance in Ligue 1 by comfortably defeating Lille (4-1) in the 24th matchday of the championship. Among the standout players in this match, Achraf Hakimi once again demonstrated his importance in the Parisian system, delivering a performance marked by his work rate and offensive involvement.
Already impressive in the victory against Lyon, the Moroccan international repeated the feat against Lille, showing solidity in his right flank. According to Footmercato, who gave him a rating of 7, Hakimi was able to contain a timid Mitchel Bakker and made numerous interceptions thanks to his excellent positioning. "Defensively, he was not troubled and was vigilant on the rare opposing incursions."
Freed from certain defensive duties, Hakimi was able to project himself forward and actively participate in PSG’s offensive play. Parisfans also emphasizes "his essential contribution in the attacking phases," giving him an 8 for "his ability to play like a true winger." His incessant activity allowed him to stretch the Lille defense and provide numerous solutions to his teammates.
However, his offensive efficiency was not total. Maxifoot, more measured in its assessment (6), believes that Hakimi "was active but failed to make real differences." He notably missed "a good opportunity against goalkeeper Chevalier," a detail that could have further embellished his performance.
Although the Moroccan full-back did not score, his impact on the game was visible. Le Parisien (6.5) appreciated "his application in high ball recovery and his ability to supply his teammates in offensive phases." Similarly, 90min.com (7) highlighted "his numerous overlaps with Ousmane Dembélé, which constantly put the Lille defense in difficulty."
With such a complete performance, Achraf Hakimi continues to establish himself as an indispensable element of PSG. His ability to make efforts on both sides of the field makes him a valuable asset for Luis Enrique, especially with a view to the next Champions League clash. While his efficiency in front of goal can still be improved, "his influence in the Parisian game is undeniable."
PSG, which now has a 16-point lead at the top of Ligue 1, can therefore approach its next challenges with confidence, counting on a Hakimi who is always so committed and valuable to his team. A good omen for the upcoming matches of the Moroccan national team scheduled for this month.
