PSG Targets Barcelona Wonderkid Lamine Yamal as Potential Mbappé Successor

Paris Saint-Germain is ready to break the bank to secure the services of Lamine Yamal, the Spanish striker of Moroccan origin from FC Barcelona, in 2025. The French club wants to snatch the 17-year-old prodigy from Barça, as it did with Neymar in 2017.
Lamine Yamal to replace Kylian Mbappé? PSG is considering this possibility, after having opted not to recruit a high-level striker during the last summer transfer window to compensate for the loss of the Bondynois who joined Real Madrid. The Parisian club is preparing for the summer of 2025 where it would be ready to break the bank to acquire Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old striker who is making a sensation at Barça and in the Spanish national team.
Sources close to PSG say the club will try to make a pharaonic offer to Barça to secure the services of the Spanish prodigy of Moroccan origin, as it had done with Neymar Jr. in 2017. The Parisian club had paid Barça the 222 million euros of the release clause to sign the Brazilian.
But with Yamal, things will not be as simple, especially since his release clause is set at one billion euros. Barça has set the bar high to prevent any club from having designs on the young player. However, this financial barrier could not be insurmountable for the PSG led by the powerful Qatar Investment Authority.
The Parisian club would plan to offer Yamal a monthly salary of 3 to 4 million euros net, more than double his current salary (1.7 million euros), and to keep his "19" number at the Parc des Princes. But would this offer be enough to convince Barça to let their prodigy go, when we know that the Blaugrana have extended Yamal’s contract until 2026 and that he could benefit next July from a renewal for five seasons until 2031?
