PSG Advances to Coupe de France Final: Hakimi’s Mixed Performance Sparks Debate

Paris Saint-Germain secured their ticket to the Coupe de France final by defeating Stade Rennais 1-0 on Wednesday evening. While the victory was collective, the performance of Achraf Hakimi was subject to debate. The Moroccan right-back delivered a mixed performance, oscillating between offensive flashes and defensive lapses.
From the kick-off, Hakimi was very active on his right flank, multiplying calls and breakthroughs. His speed and technique allowed him to create several dangerous situations, especially in the first half. His understanding with Ousmane Dembélé was one of the positive points of the Parisian side.
Footmercato gave Hakimi a modest score of 5.5, noting his almost offensive positioning which, despite good occupation of spaces, did not generate many goal-scoring opportunities. However, his play facilitated the combinations on the right flank, highlighting the player’s versatility.
On the other hand, Maxifoot and Parifans were more laudatory, with scores of 7 and 7.5 respectively. Maxifoot highlighted his significant offensive involvement, with an impressive number of balls touched and active participation in the duels. Parifans particularly appreciated his energy on the pitch, noting that his constant presence in attack complicated the task for the Rennes defense.
Sofoot and Paristeam both awarded Hakimi a score of 7, highlighting his solid performance both in attack and defense, and underlining his key role in PSG’s progression to the Cup final.
Le Parisien, with a score of 5.5, criticized a lack of efficiency in the final gestures, despite good combinations with his teammates, notably Ousmane Dembélé.
Finally, Hommedumatch.fr gave him the highest rating, 7.5, appreciating his offensive positioning and his ability to disrupt Rennes’ defensive organization. However, the media noted that this same positioning could have slightly disorganized his own camp.
