PSG - Angers: Achraf Hakimi's ratings by the sports press

The performance of Achraf Hakimi in Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-2 victory over Angers on Saturday evening has elicited mixed reviews from the media, between recognition of his offensive contribution and criticism of certain errors. Although PSG generally dominated the match, the Moroccan full-back’s performance seemed mixed, combining efficiency and visible fatigue.

From the first minutes, Hakimi distinguished himself on his right flank, with a decisive intervention on El Melali in the 7th minute, a defensive action applauded by his coach and noted as crucial by Footmercato, who gave him a score of 7/10 for this "very good start to the season". Hakimi then was an important actor in the construction of Parisian attacks, multiplying the centers and the duplications. Le Parisien gives him a 6/10, underlining a "serious match oriented towards the offensive", where the Moroccan provided dangerous balls to Lee, Mayulu and especially Asensio, without them being able to materialize.

However, despite these positive aspects, some criticisms are heard. Maxifoot gives him a more modest score of 5.5/10, considering that Hakimi, "very little worried in his right lane", seemed jaded and played at a more relaxed pace than usual. This feeling of slackening is shared by Paristeam, who gives him a score of 3/10. According to them, the Moroccan lacked his usual desire and made multiple mistakes, which earned him reprimands from his captain on the field.

Nevertheless, other evaluations are more lenient and recognize Hakimi’s essential role. Parisfans gives him 7/10 and insists on his "precious" character on the right side, despite occasional errors. 90min.com, for its part, gives him a 6/10, saluting his impact in attack while admitting that his repetitive play could expose certain flaws.

Hakimi’s match against Angers thus reveals a player indispensable to PSG for his ability to support the offensive, but who sometimes seems to be a victim of his own rhythm and the accumulation of matches. His interventions allowed PSG to remain dominant, but his few poorly assured passes could have cost dearly without the comfortable advantage acquired in the first half. Replaced at half-time by Yoram Zague, Hakimi will have to regain all his freshness and rigor in the upcoming matches, particularly those of Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations.
