PSG’s Achraf Hakimi: One Year After Record-Breaking Transfer from Inter Milan

A year ago, Moroccan international Achraf Hakim arrived at PSG from Inter Milan, for an amount of 60 million euros and various bonuses, thus becoming one of the biggest transfers in football history.
Today, it’s time to take stock of the work done by the Moroccan player in one year in Paris. Achraf Hakimi was recruited last summer to bring a new breath to the team but also to strengthen the Parisian right side. From his arrival, the Atlas Lion was entitled to three weeks of adaptation and training before playing his first official match.
On the field, he very early showed that he had not been recruited by chance, scoring his first goal in his first appearance in Ligue 1 at the Stade de l’Aube. He has multiplied the performances over the matches, to the delight of the Paris Saint-Germain coach and the international press.
Achraf Hakimi has also discovered affinities and a particular connection with Kylian Mbappé with whom he forms an inseparable duo on the field as off. In a recent interview, the Moroccan player confided about this sudden friendship that was born between them and which has been strengthened in a short time, allowing them to be in sync on the field. "We are very good friends. Our complicity was created naturally. We are the same age, we like the same things. This is what brings us together on the field and off," he had said.
The Atlas Lion scored the first goal of the 2021-2022 season, but also the 100th of the club, eight months later, on a decisive pass from Kylian Mbappé. It was in Strasbourg. In total, Achraf Hakimi played 41 matches this season including 32 in Ligue 1 and 8 in the Champions League, becoming the second most used player of the season after Kylian Mbappé. The Moroccan right-back closes the season as the 5th most decisive player of the club with 4 goals scored and 6 assists.
