PSG’s Achraf Hakimi Named World’s Best Defender in Goal 50 Rankings

Achraf Hakimi occupies the 21st place in the ranking of the 50 best players in the world for the year 2021. The survey conducted by Goal 50 places Lionel Messi at the head of this top 50 followed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Levandowski.
Ranked in 21st position, Achraf Hakimi is the only Moroccan featured in this Top 50. This place gives him the title of best defender in the world. The Atlas Lion owes this distinction to the performances he has shown since he was recruited by Paris Saint-Germain.
Achraf Hakimi is also ranked 3rd best African player, behind Egyptian Mohamed Salah (4th) and Chelsea’s Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (20th).
Algerian Riyad Mahrez occupies the 28th place, while Al Ahly’s Egyptian Mohamed Sherif is 49th in this ranking.
