PSG’s Achraf Hakimi Booed in Tel Aviv Over Palestine Support

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi was booed by the public at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv on Sunday, August 1, during the Trophée des Champions final between PSG and Lille. The reason: his messages of support for Palestine.
It was a nightmare for the Moroccan right-back. Achraf Hakimi was booed every time he touched the ball by a good part of the 29,000 spectators present at the Bloomfield Stadium on Sunday. The Trophée des Champions final ended with a score (1-0) in favor of Lille. What caught the attention was not the failure of PSG but the hostile reception reserved for the Atlas Lion in Tel Aviv.
Clearly, the Israeli public does not forgive him for his support for Palestine. The Moroccan international is one of the Moroccan citizens who rejected the normalization of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel and who do not hesitate to show their support for Palestine when the opportunity arises. During the escalation of violence between the Hebrew state and Gaza between mid-April and late May 2021, which left nearly 300 dead, including 250 in the Gaza Strip alone, the former Inter player had relayed the hashtag "Free Palestine" on his Twitter account.
