Prominent Moroccan Notary Jailed for Alleged Real Estate Fraud Scheme

Suspected of falsifying fraudulent transfers of real estate and land, a famous notary practicing in the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara has been arrested and then incarcerated in the El Arjat prison.

O.B., a famous notary practicing in the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara is no longer free to move around. He was arrested and then incarcerated in the El Arjat prison for his alleged involvement in a case of forgery in the transfer of real estate and land worth several hundred million dirhams, reports the Arabic daily Al Akhbar.

He is notably accused of having drawn up and validated donation contracts for the benefit of two heirs of a very wealthy nonagenarian while the latter, aged 80, had been bedridden for three years. 12 other heirs felt aggrieved and therefore brought the case to justice.

The notary is a repeat offender. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him for similar actions. The Notary Council had to suspend him several times.
