Private Jet Crashes in Remote Afghan Mountains, Six on Board

A private jet, allegedly belonging to a Moroccan company or registered in Morocco, would have crashed on Saturday in a remote area of Afghanistan, with six occupants on board.
According to local authorities, the accident occurred on Saturday near the Zebak district in Badakhshan province, about 250 kilometers (155 miles) northeast of Kabul, the capital. A rescue team has been sent to this mountainous and sparsely populated area, said Zabihullah Amiri, the spokesman for the regional government.
According to Abdul Wahid Rayan, a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Information and Culture, the plane would belong "to a Moroccan company". For Indian civil aviation officials, the aircraft would rather be registered in Morocco. A "engine problem" would be the cause of the accident, announced Rayan, without giving more details. According to FlightRadar24 data, the aircraft was last reported on Saturday around 1:30 pm GMT, south of the city of Peshawar, Pakistan.
For their part, the Russian civil aviation authorities have confirmed the disappearance of a Dassault Falcon 10 with four crew members and two passengers, specifying that the aircraft, registered in Russia, and having taken off from U-Tapao-Rayong-Pattaya International Airport in Thailand bound for Zhukovsky International Airport in Moscow, "ceased communication and disappeared from radar".
