Prison Officials Deny Reports of Gang Violence at Kénitra Facility in Morocco

No clashes between two rival gangs in the Kénitra prison. This is the false information that the prison administration is trying to refute. It provides a formal denial of the rumors circulated by certain media reporting "serious injuries resulting from knife fights, lasting two days, between minor detainees".

It is rather a dispute between four inmates housed in the same ward, which resulted in two injured. They immediately received the necessary care at the institution’s infirmary.

Contrary to the allegations, the officials indicate that the conflict has been resolved. Calm and order have also been restored, in accordance with the law, without resorting to the intervention team from the General Delegation for Penitentiary Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR)", specifies the same press release, noting that "the necessary legal measures have been taken against these detainees" and that "the competent prosecutor’s office has been informed of the matter".

As for the allegations regarding the ban on family visits, the administration of the penitentiary institution stressed that they were delayed by an hour due to the unusual influx observed that day. This information follows rumors about cases of poisoning and deaths among inmates.
