Princess Élisabeth to Lead Belgium’s First Morocco Mission in 2027

The heir to the throne is currently completing her master’s degree in public policy at Harvard Business School in the United States. This graduation, scheduled for 28 May 2026, will mark the end of a seven-year international academic journey that included the University of Oxford. After taking advantage of her final spring break in March to prepare for her exams, the Duchess of Brabant will make her permanent return to Belgium.

Starting in 2027, Princess Élisabeth is expected to take charge of Belgian economic missions, a responsibility previously handled by Princess Astrid and temporarily by Queen Mathilde. According to well-informed sources cited by Belga, she is expected to lead two major missions next year: the first to Morocco in May 2027, and the second to Canada later in the year.

At 25, the Princess will therefore begin her official activities earlier than her father, King Philippe, who led his first mission at 33.
