Premier League Introduces Ramadan Breaks for Muslim Players During Matches

Muslim footballers playing in certain European countries are allowed to break their fast during evening matches throughout the month of Ramadan, which runs from March 1 to 30, 2025.
FA Cup matches played during the month of Ramadan will be briefly interrupted to allow Muslim players to break their fast. "Players fasting will be allowed a short break during the match to break their fast," the English Football League said in a statement regarding the fifth round.
And to specify: "An approximate time will be agreed to stop the game, but this stoppage will not be used as an opportunity for the teams to drink water or as a tactical timeout."
To recall, the Premier League has in recent years adopted a similar measure during its matches, allowing Muslim players fasting to break their fast during a natural stoppage in play, such as a goal kick or a throw-in.
