Polisario Threatens Legal Action Over Resumed Canary Islands-Laâyoune Flights

The resumption of flights between the Canary Islands and Laâyoune is not to the liking of the Polisario. The latter threatens the Spanish airline Binter with legal action.
In a letter addressed to the president of the Binter company, Abdullah Arabi asks the Spanish low-cost company to suspend its flights between the airports of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) and Laâyoune, reports La Razón. The Polisaro threatens the company with legal action if it does not comply.
Abdullah Arabi argues that the Sahara is a "non-self-governing territory" according to the UN and that the 2018 ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union requires the consent of the population of the Sahara for the EU’s agreements and contracts with Morocco to include this territory. Is a showdown looming between the Polisario and Binter?
