Polisario Militants Provoke Moroccan Forces in Western Sahara Buffer Zone

The Polisario commissioned, on Sunday, November 1st, men to provoke the elements of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). The MINURSO agents in charge of monitoring the ceasefire in the Moroccan Sahara intervened to prevent any confrontation.
According to the videos disseminated by the separatists on social networks, there were 20 people sent near the Moroccan defense system in the demilitarized zone of Mijek, reports Le360. Among them, children. They tried to provoke the Moroccan soldiers. In one of the videos, an individual calls to seek physical contact with the Moroccan soldiers, as this can earn them sympathy, which they greatly need at the moment, if they react violently.
For their part, the FAR elements "shone by their exemplarity". They remained phlegmatic but firm in the face of this intrusion, it is reported. On their arrival, the MINURSO agents had to convince these Polisario individuals to leave the premises.
This new provocation came the day after the Security Council resolution extending the MINURSO mandate until October 31, 2021. A resolution that annoys the Polisario and its historical ally, Algeria.
