Polisario Leader Warns Spain Over Western Sahara Policy Shift

The leader of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, stated that Spain will end up paying dearly for its change of position on the Sahara, hoping that the leader of the Popular Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will correct the situation if he accesses the Moncloa in 2023.
Brahim Ghali has again denounced Pedro Sanchez’s decision to support Morocco’s autonomy plan for the Sahara, arguing that it is a "pure and simple betrayal," recalls El Espanol. "One day, you will have to pay for this," he stressed, adding that the arguments put forward by the Spanish government to justify this turnaround are far from convincing.

The Sahrawi leader assured that the Polisario has "broken" its relations with Spain and would be willing to restore them if it reverses its decision and supports the self-determination referendum of the Sahrawi people. He also hopes that the leader of the Popular Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will find a solution to this conflict if he manages to access the Moncloa next year.

Ghali also spoke about the espionage using the Pegasus software, of the mobile phones of Pedro Sanchez and the Ministers of Defense and Interior, Margarita Robles and Fernando Grande-Marlaska. According to him, Morocco would be behind these attacks, and for this reason, he believes that the Spanish Executive should "break off relations" with Morocco.
