Polisario Front Blocks Truck Traffic at Guerguerat Border Crossing for 48 Hours

The Polisario Front intends to block the Guerguerat crossing to trucks and heavy vehicles, using tires and scrap metal. The information was communicated on Monday, August 19, 2019, by a supporter of the Front.
The individual, carrying the flag of the phantom republic, announced in a video that the operation, which should not concern light vehicles and cars, should last 48 hours.
On Saturday, August 17, the Mauritanian authorities had seized a tent that a supporter of the Polisario Front had set up at the level of border post 55, making threats to close the crossing.
Let us recall that despite the instructions of the United Nations Secretary-General, the buffer zone is experiencing high tension between Morocco and the Polisario Front.
